My name is Allen Stroh and I have been a General Contractor on Whidbey Island for over 25 years. In recent years, I have found that there is a need for a one-stop service focused on second home estate asset management.

Many with second homes on Whidbey Island are in need of a service that can manage their home while they are away to 1) ensure their home is in mint condition when they return; and 2) address any unforeseen circumstances before it becomes a disaster.

In the spring of 2008, the economy and the residential construction industry on Whidbey Island slowed down. At this time, I made the decision to pursue this niche and formulate First Call Home Services.

1. I was called by a potential client to evaluate water damage to a multimillion dollar home in Mutiny Bay due to a window that failed. The window had a water leak that was not caught for several months because the homeowner had not been there during that time. The cost of this damage was over $45,000. If this was caught earlier it would have cost under $500. By collaborating with a service such as mine, the homeowner would have saved both money and the agony of dealing with such a mess.
2. A November storm coincided with a high tide, flooding a beautiful home on Double Bluff. This home stayed flooded for three weeks before the owner who resided in the Seattle area was notified by another neighbor. The damage to the home was devastating.
